The Place Enhancement program softens and beautifies Hollywood's public realm — from the tree canopy and median landscaping to the iconic Walk of Fame stars. Much of this work is made possible in partnership with Hollywood Partnership Community Trust (HPCT), our 501(c)(3) affiliate, which secures grants and philanthropic funding to advance Goal 2 projects across the district. The dashboard below tracks the work THP delivers across the Hollywood Entertainment District, year over year.

Infrastructure Improvement
The physical elements that shape Hollywood's daily experience — from the trash bins and light poles on every block to the district's utility boxes and curb markings. THP maintains and refreshes the district's infrastructure year-round to keep the streetscape functional, beautiful, and camera-ready.
Trash Bins & Collection
Public bins and consistent pickup are the backbone of a clean district. THP services bins on a regular cycle to keep sidewalks usable and welcoming.
Bins Refurbished and Rebranded
Public trash receptacles cleaned, repaired, and rebranded across the district in 2025.
Bin refurbishment does not occur on a regular annual or monthly cycle — these efforts take place if and when project funding becomes available.
Light Poles
Painting and maintaining light poles softens the streetscape, removes graffiti, and gives the district a finished, intentional look.

A healthy urban canopy cools the streetscape, anchors landscape character, and signals care. THP plants and maintains trees across the Hollywood Entertainment District.

In October 2026, THP expects to trim 631 trees across the district.
Tree Species in the District
Annual tree trimming scheduling takes into account the species of tree and other environmental factors.
Ongoing tree care also includes 2,169 year-to-date watering and general care visits — such as stake replacement, realignment, mulch, tree well berm maintenance, and pruning of light branches for shaping.
Tree Health & Testing
Healthy soil and proactive monitoring keep the canopy thriving. THP conducts soil testing and targeted health checks across the district's trees.

Creating spaces that invite people to gather, linger, and connect. Placemaking transforms Hollywood's public realm through art, activation, and thoughtful design.
The P-22 Mural
The Hollywood Partnership helped secure the location for this vibrant tribute to P-22 — the beloved mountain lion who crossed both the 405 and 101 freeways to make his home in Griffith Park. Painted by celebrated artist Corie Mattie, the mural honors P-22's legacy as a symbol of urban wildlife resilience and stands as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect Los Angeles's wild neighbors.

FIFA Comes to Hollywood
As the world turned its eyes to the beautiful game, Hollywood joined the celebration with an interactive FIFA World Cup trophy installation — inviting visitors to crank the trophy to life and share in the excitement of the tournament right in the heart of the district.
