London-based folk-pop singer, songwriter and artist Ella Clayton shares her new single ‘Honey’, out everywhere on 26 September.
Ella’s first new music of 2024, ‘Honey’ once again showcases Ella’s natural gift for telling relatable and whimsical stories through her songwriting, all wrapped up in her honey-soaked vocal delivery. Seamlessly blending elements of folk, pop, rock and soul, Ella’s distinctive musical style transcends genre and speaks straight to the heart and soul.
Produced by Matt Cooke and Michael Hemmings, ‘Honey’ was written about falling in and out of love, and the mementos we keep. Ella says, “When I split up with my ex, I gave him a cactus and he called it Ella. Writing this song, I was obsessed with the physical mementos of a relationship – a cannibal cactus, a gorgeous blue jumper – what we choose to keep and what we say goodbye to”
Ella released her debut album, ‘Murmurations’ in 2022, followed by an acoustic EP of live one-takes recorded on a stairwell, aptly titled, “Stairwell” in 2023. Since then, she has caught the attention of George Ezra who invited her to perform on his stage at Latitude Festival 2023, sold-out 3 London headline shows, and has performed around the UK and Paris.
‘Honey’ is the first of a string of releases from the multi-faceted singer in the coming months, so watch this space!
