Mario Houle is a singer-songwriter originally from Vermont! With a background in musical theatre, he loves to make music that tells stories, and he continuously strives to tell stories he feels aren’t told as often. “I Trusted You” is an emotionally raw pop/rock anthem of betrayal and hard truths with a huge build-up that signifies exactly how anger can feel when it’s been suppressed to please others. “Why I’m Not Okay” is a break-up banger directed towards his parents and how the heartache from his childhood still weighs on him to this day. “The Martyr” uses the religious metaphor of a Martyr to tell the story of how much some of us are willing to sacrifice for a relationship that’s already dying. Each song, while specific to him, tells the story of feelings that are universal yet complicated, in the hopes that maybe music can help us start to make sense of it. Whether it be pop, rock, acoustic, alternative, country, musical theatre – he will always utilize the genre he feels will give the most power to the stories he’s trying to tell and write music he thinks needs to be heard.
