Overly attached GenX Sapphic and former Lesbian Avenger rises from the ashes after fascism grips America to escape the prison camps before they reach the queer community.
Steeped in the internal conflict to stay put and protest amidst the fall, she rallies her friends and researches asylum and immigration, but finds no path out. Just as her friends get defeated, a close family member, who voted for the calamity, gets a serious diagnosis and she has to decide to keep digging tunnels for her escape or pour everything into the caregiving duties and move back to more hostile land in Texas.
As the government issues financial rewards to arrest gay activists and begins to imprison queer journalists and shoot queer protestors under the false claim of domestic terrorism, her company offers to pay for her immigration to London if she decides to relocate.
If she leaves she must coordinate the timelines caregiving in someone’s final days with the slowly closing gates of safety and joining the mass queer exodus to the other side of the pond with the help of others who fled.
