Details

Rijah shapes layers of luminous harmony, uplifting vulnerability through her candid lyrics, carving an authentic sound that fuses genres with honesty and intention. The singer-songwriter, multi- nstrumentalist and producer, channels the soul of her hometown, Jersey City, and the jazz-infused pulse of Manhattan. Raised in a home rich with Bengali culture, she grew up surrounded by Indian music, shaping her melodic sensibilities.

In 2024, Rijah made her festival debut at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, sharing the bill with Norah Jones and Noah Kahan, an appearance that later led to supporting Norah in Massachusetts in 2025. Her performance history also includes the NAMM Convention and SXSW 2025. She was featured in NPR’s Tiny Desk Top Shelf episodes in both 2023 and 2024 with her songs “Up” and “House In Tattoos.”

Her project Motion Pictures emerged from her exploration of identity, offering a fresh, imaginative interpretation of R&B. Ever evolving, she blends jazz influences, progressive soul, and melodic introspection into music that feels nostalgic and personal.
