The Molotovs are a London-based teenage sibling duo —Mathew (vocals/guitar) and Issey Cartlidge (bass/vocals)— who formed around 2020. Known for a high-energy mix of mod, punk, and indie rock, they gained attention by playing over 500 gigs, including busking and opening for The Libertines, Blondie, and Iggy Pop and top-3 spot on the UK album charts.

Their debut album, Wasted On Youth, produced by Jason Perry (Don Broco, Trash Boat) at The Marshall Studio and mixed/mastered by Blair Crichton of Dead Pony, is a vibrant explosion of new wave punk, indie, and garage-laden rock. It marks The Molotovs as one of Britain’s most vital bands.

The album addresses self-empowerment and determination, as well as the right to have a good time. Scattered with themes of social and political awareness, and conveying a sense of being personally overwhelmed, connected yet internally fragmented, it is brimming with hope and youthful energy, yet grounded in the reality of everyday challenges and modern life.
