(Re)Introducing: The Hollywood Partnership
Allow us to reintroduce ourselves.
The Hollywood Partnership, formerly known as the Hollywood Property Owners Alliance, is a non-profit organization formed in 1996 to manage the Hollywood Entertainment District (HED), a property-based business improvement district (BID). For decades, our clean and safe programs have helped spur reinvestment, development, and increased business in the commercial core of Hollywood, working in tandem with our elected officials, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, LAPD, Hollywood Heritage, neighborhood councils, and many other organizations.
MISSION - To enhance the appeal, vitality, and well-being of the Hollywood Community from the ground up.
In 2019, our organization underwent an intensive strategic planning process helmed by our new President & CEO, Kristopher Larson. Throughout this process, over 900 stakeholders were engaged, capturing a wide range of perspectives from property owners, employees, residents, business owners, and others. The resulting document, “Hollywood in Focus,” suggested two key pivots for the organization. The first recommendation was that we go “beyond the basics” of our stalwart clean and safe programs to begin a research and data collection function to support advocacy and policy efforts that advance the HED’s economic interests. Secondly, it aims to shift the culture of the organization from being primarily property owner focused to one that involves and engages with stakeholders representing a broad range of interests in Hollywood.
VISION - Hollywood: Where Experiences Exceed Expectations
We seek to be a voice of the community, taking a hyper-local approach to connect with the growing residential population and the businesses and organizations that together comprise the fabric of our community. To better represent our new mission, vision, and ethos, we underwent a rebranding process to consolidate the various names and acronyms that people referred to us by: the BID, HED, HPOA, and Only In Hollywood (our social media handle). Our new name, The Hollywood Partnership, is indicative of our desire to convene and connect with Hollywood’s diverse community. It signals that by working together toward a shared vision, we can and will build the Hollywood community that lives in the minds of dreamers across the globe, and more importantly: in our neighborhood. We can do this, by working in partnership.
The Hollywood Partnership.
In the coming months, we will be rolling out components of our new brand, including a new website. Stay tuned!
