With an expansive history residing in the builing, Yamashiro translates to “mountain place” in Japanese, which acts as a literal description of this historic hilltop mansion that was first built in 1914 and meant to be a replica of a palace located in the “Yamashiro” province mountains near Kyoto, Japan.
